I purchased the automatic multiplexor to track down an intermittent problem I had with my 1998 SLK230 for nearly a year. I had made no progress with the Mercedes Benz workshop on this problem during regular service. Within days I had found the problem, a camshaft sensor that went faulty when hot, but worked when cold. The ability to look at live data from the engine helped enormosuly as well as reading the trouble codes. The senor was replaced quickly with minimal labour cost, so the unit probably paid for itself in workshop labour savings on its first use.
